In August 2013, CNNMoney and Money magazine ranked Vienna, VA third on its list of the 100 best places to live in the United States. In addition to highly ranked public schools, its assets include a downtown with many small businesses, a Washington Metro station with large parking garages (the western terminus of the Orange Line) just south of the town, and a portion of the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park hiker/biker trail cutting through the center of the town. Arlington Village is a townhome condominium community located on 42 acres in Arlington, Virginia. Originally built as apartments between 1939 and 1941, Arlington Village Townhouse Condominium was established in 1981 and consists of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom townhomes. Arlington Village was designated in 2008 in Arlington County’s Historic Registry, and includes a large wooded area with a creek; a designated wildlife Habitat. It contains 657 contributing buildings (including 656 apartment units). Fun fact the area was originally constructed in 1939, and is a planned garden style townhouse condo community that incorporates recreational areas, open spaces, a swimming pool and courtyards within five superblocks. Walking distance to EVERYTHING on Columbia Pike, this neighborhood is in high demand and we’ve seen a great amount of home value appreciation over the last 3years! Arlington Village has a ton of amenities as well, which include a pool, tennis court, community room, and walking trails. This community could not be more picturesque, every street is lined with mature trees and greenery. It’s truly the best of both worlds! Situated right between the border of Pentagon City and Bailey's Crossroads, Columbia Pike is a major residential hub in Arlington, Virginia, serving a quarter of the Arlington population. South Arlington’s Columbia Pike neighborhoods have seen a huge appreciation in the last few year’s for it’s close proximity to AMAZON HQ2, Reagan National Airport and D.C. Those neighborhoods include Penrose, Arlington Heights, Alcova Heights, Columbia Heights, Columbia Heights West, Columbia Forest, Douglas Park and Barcroft. Just up the road from the Columbia Pike neighborhoods are Fairlington, The Windgate and Shirlington neighborhoods (22206 zip code). One of my personal favorite communities is Fairlington. The community was originally built in 1944 for military housing and was converted to condos in the 1970s, so all of the 3,500+ units you’ll find here are in the Colonial style. There’s a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartment-style condos, as well as two-and three-bedroom townhouse-style condos. Fairlington has INCREDIBLE amenities, including 12 pools, 2 community centers, multiple tennis courts and is walking distance to downtown Shirlington! Del Ray is also known for its “Wellness District,” a large community of holistic health businesses. Del Ray is adjacent to National Landing, a newly branded neighborhood encompassing parts of Pentagon City and Crystal City in Arlington and Potomac Yard in Alexandria, which is welcoming Amazon’s major new headquarters in Northern Virginia and the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus. On the north side of Del Ray, find shows at America's legendary music hall, The Birchmere in the area known as Arlandria, also popularly known as Chirilagua, for the El Salvadoran village that was at one time home to many of its residents where now, small shops and restaurants with an international flavor line its streets. The city is 17 miles (27 km) west of Washington, D.C. The Washington Metro’s Orange Line serves Fairfax through its Vienna station, which is a mile northwest of the city limits. CUE Bus and Metrobus operate in Fairfax. Virginia Railway Express’ Burke Centre station is situated three miles southeast of the city’s boundaries.
